Charley Wright

In 2009, Charley Wright and a previous partner bought Critter Corner after deciding to relocate to Kanab from Maine. Prior to that, Charley had been a graphics technician for the Bangor Daily News, the second largest daily newspaper in Maine. He was also a very active animal advocate. He volunteered with the New England Border Collie Rescue; which involved fostering dogs, picking up dogs that were being accepted into the rescue and checking many of the prospective adopters. Katie, who appears in this photo with Charlie was his own beloved border collie.
Charley came from a farm family, and has been around animals his entire life. His obvious love for the many pets that stop into the store with their people makes for a warm welcome. In his spare time, Charley sings with the talented and popular choral group, The Canyon Singers.

Joan Thacher

Joan is the other half of the Critter Corner staff. She joined the business as co-owner with Charley back in March of 2014. A life-long animal lover, she has, for over ten years, been the proud owner of The Pooch Parlor pet grooming salon. She also worked for seven years for Dr. William Christy, the original veterinarian at Best Friends Animal Society.
A long-time resident of Kane County, Joan spent twenty years in Alton with her beloved Belgian Sheepdogs, horses, cats, chickens and parakeets. "My animals are everything to me and when I lose one, I'm devastated". She's lived in Kanab for over 15 years.
"I'm at the Critter Corner because I want to help people's animals live longer, healthier
lives. I know this helps the pet's people, too!"
